Snowflake is seeking a visionary engineering leader to build and scale the AI Solutions team. As Director of Engineering for AI Enterprise, you will lead a world-class global engineering organization designing and implementing cutting-edge AI solutions on Snowflake's AI Data Cloud platform.
Key responsibilities include recruiting and mentoring a high-performing, global engineering team while fostering a culture of innovation and ownership. You will define the long-term technical vision and organizational structure for the AI Solutions team, ensuring alignment with Snowflake's product evolution and business objectives.
You will lead the technical design and development of advanced AI and machine learning solutions using Snowflake Cortex and Snowflake ML, owning end-to-end implementation from concept through enterprise-grade production deployment. Acting as the senior engineering authority in customer engagements, you will partner closely with Fortune 100 customers and Go-To-Market teams to understand their needs and drive tangible business impact.
You will serve as the engineering voice in strategic planning, influencing headcount, budget, and product roadmaps while forging strong partnerships with Product, Research, and Sales teams. The role includes driving continuous improvement in AI methodologies and representing Snowflake's AI capabilities within the broader technical community. Up to 25% travel is expected for customer and global team engagement.
Required qualifications include a BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent experience, 12+ years in software engineering with at least 4 years as an Engineering Director managing managers. Deep technical expertise in AI/ML is essential, with proven hands-on experience building and deploying solutions leveraging LLMs, natural language processing, and generative AI technologies. You should have a strong track record delivering complex software solutions to enterprise customers, experience scaling engineering organizations across multiple geographies, and exceptional ability to partner with Product, Sales, Delivery, and Customer Success teams. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are critical for articulating technical vision to both technical and non-technical audiences.
