Remora is seeking a Director of Electrical Engineering to lead the design and execution of electrical systems for industrial carbon capture products. This hands-on leadership role will build and develop the electrical engineering function while providing technical direction across product development, deployment, and commissioning.
Remora builds modular carbon capture systems that convert exhaust into beverage-grade CO₂ sold to breweries and greenhouses. The company deploys in regions facing severe CO₂ shortages where prices are highest, enabling high margins without reliance on tax credits or carbon credits. The company has raised over $150 million from top investors including Lowercarbon Capital, Union Square Ventures, First Round Capital, Y Combinator, and Valor Equity Partners.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and grow the Electrical Engineering function while remaining hands-on in design, troubleshooting, and technical decision-making
- Own electrical design, architecture, and engineering execution from concept through production, deployment, and commissioning
- Design and integrate industrial electrical systems, including power generation and distribution, controls, instrumentation, motors, panels, and generator systems
- Develop and review schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and electrical system designs
- Perform and oversee electrical studies, protection strategies, and power system analysis, including load flow, short-circuit, and arc flash analysis
Experience with industrial power systems, 480V three-phase power, generator integration, and medium- or high-voltage systems is highly valued. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on technical expertise in a rapidly scaling climate tech company.
