K2 Space is seeking a Director of Congressional Affairs to lead the company's government relations strategy and Capitol Hill presence. This is a day-to-day leadership role focused on building and sustaining relationships with key congressional committees including House and Senate Armed Services, Defense Appropriations subcommittees, and Intelligence Committees.
You will serve as the primary point of contact on Capitol Hill, representing K2's policy priorities and advancing visibility among defense and space stakeholders in Congress. Key responsibilities include developing and executing legislative strategies, staffing senior executives for congressional interactions both on the Hill and during site visits, monitoring legislative and appropriations activity relevant to K2's business, and representing the company at official hearings, meetings, and political events.
The role requires federal lobbyist registration and direct engagement with congressional offices. You will manage K2's Political Action Committee day-to-day, including solicitation campaigns, contribution strategy updates, and FEC filings. You'll build bipartisan relationships with committee staff, member offices, and other stakeholders, and partner with K2's broader Strategy team including Strategic Communications and State/Local Government Affairs.
This is a high-visibility position ideal for someone with deep Capitol Hill experience, established bipartisan relationships, understanding of the federal budget process, and passion for shaping policy in national security space. K2 Space is a Series D-funded company backed by over $1 billion in funding, with over $1 billion in signed contracts across commercial and US government customers. The company is mass-producing the highest-power satellite platforms ever built, with multiple launches planned for 2027 and scaling to 100 satellites annually.
