Fuse is building fusion energy technology with applications across multiple industries. This Director of Commercial Partnerships role is a 0-to-1 go-to-market position focused on establishing strategic partnerships with semiconductor and chip manufacturers who need radiation-hardening and testing capabilities. You will own the full commercial cycle—from lead qualification and market development through complex negotiation and close. Key responsibilities include identifying and evaluating attractive commercial partners within the semiconductor and electronics ecosystem, structuring first-of-a-kind agreements (including joint development agreements and strategic investments), and building internal and external consensus to secure project approvals and investment. The role demands deep technical fluency combined with commercial judgment. You'll develop scalable partnership approaches to commercialize Fuse's testing and hardening capabilities, maintain current knowledge of semiconductor market trends and emerging technologies, and navigate complex, cross-functional programs in an ambiguous technical environment. Minimum qualifications: 8+ years in commercial negotiations, business development, or investment, ideally in semiconductor or electronics. Demonstrated experience developing and negotiating complex, first-of-a-kind partnerships is essential. You must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment with extended hours and occasional business travel. This is an in-office role requiring relocation to San Leandro, CA if not already local. ITAR compliance required: must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or eligible for required State Department authorizations. Benefits include medical/dental/vision, relocation assistance, flexible time off, and supportive leave policies.
