Jerry.ai is a fintech platform that simplifies the ownership experience for major assets—starting with car insurance and expanding into home, motorcycle, and other physical assets. The company has grown to 5M+ customers, raised $240M+, scaled revenue 70X, and achieved profitability in early 2024. As Director of New Verticals Partnerships, you will own the end-to-end partnerships strategy and execution for Jerry's expansion into home, motorcycle, and adjacent product lines. This is a newly defined role reporting directly to the VP of Partnerships, with significant autonomy and cross-functional influence. Key responsibilities include: - Building and managing the partnerships pipeline from initial outreach through signed agreements and successful partner onboarding - Leading independent conversations with insurance carriers and strategic partners—qualifying fit, understanding partner needs, structuring value propositions, and closing complex deals - Designing creative deal structures for non-standard partners, finding alternative arrangements when traditional approaches don't work - Owning post-close partner success, ensuring new partners ramp effectively and develop into long-term relationships - Contributing to vertical strategy by translating ground-level partner feedback into product and go-to-market decisions You will work in a lean, flat organization with heavy cross-functional collaboration across product, engineering, data science, legal, finance, and executive leadership. The role involves complex, multi-month deal cycles with significant ambiguity—this is 0-to-1 work, not execution of a proven playbook. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of business development, partnerships, or strategy consulting experience with a track record of closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals. You should have demonstrated success building 0-to-1 (launching new partnership categories, entering new markets, or building BD functions from scratch). A background combining at least two of the following is preferred: consulting/structured problem-solving, BD/sales execution, or early-stage startup operating experience. You must be comfortable engaging senior external stakeholders independently and communicating complex deal structures clearly to executive audiences.
