Material Bank is the world's largest material marketplace for the architecture and design industry, operating in 37 countries and connecting thousands of designers with tens of thousands of materials from leading brands. The company is rapidly expanding into Europe with regional headquarters in Paris and offices in London and Stuttgart. As Director of Mobility Partnerships, you will lead Material Bank's expansion into the global mobility interiors market, establishing a new vertical focused on automotive, aviation, and marine sectors. This is a senior, external-facing role requiring deep expertise and credibility within the mobility interiors ecosystem. You will own the full business development lifecycle: identifying and engaging founding brand partners, developing trusted relationships with senior executives and decision-makers across leading manufacturers and suppliers, and securing strategic partnerships. You'll represent Material Bank at industry trade shows, conferences, and customer events, building awareness and establishing the platform as the leading solution for mobility material discovery. Key responsibilities include developing consultative business conversations that demonstrate Material Bank's value through material discovery, digital sampling, specification tools, and market insights. You'll partner closely with Product, Catalog, Marketing, and Leadership teams to shape the company's mobility sector strategy, bringing customer and market insights back into the organization. You'll identify market opportunities, competitive trends, and emerging technologies influencing mobility interiors. This role is Europe-based with extensive international travel (75–90%) across Europe and North America, with significant focus on Germany, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. Success requires 15+ years in the mobility interiors industry (automotive, aviation, marine, or materials manufacturing), deep knowledge of the European market with an established network, proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior executives, strong commercial instincts, and an entrepreneurial mindset. You must have exceptional communication skills, executive presence, and passion for innovation in mobility design.
