Anduril Industries is seeking a Director of Material Movement Execution & Production Supply to lead warehouse and production supply operations across its headquarters and Orange County facilities, including a new Long Beach campus launch. This role oversees receiving, put-away, picking, kitting, line-side delivery, and outbound shipping operations serving Anduril's defense technology manufacturing lines.
You will lead a team of managers and supervisors overseeing several hundred hourly associates. Key responsibilities include:
• Run daily operations across multiple sites ensuring zero line stoppages caused by material delays, with dock-to-stock, kit-on-time, and line-side fill rates meeting agreed service levels. Every miss requires root-cause analysis via A3 methodology.
• Operate from data: build daily dashboards tracking labor, productivity by process, backlog, and service levels by site, using system data rather than spreadsheets to staff each shift.
• Lead from the floor through daily Gemba walks, tier meetings at each site, and kaizen events targeting measured problems.
• Own safety (zero recordables standard), operating budget (labor, overtime, supplies, equipment), and cost-per-unit-handled metrics reported monthly to Finance.
• Maintain transaction discipline and location control across all flows. Execute quality at the point of handling: receiving checks, damage prevention, and nonconforming material segregation.
• Manage government-furnished property and export-controlled material with proper segregation, serialization, and traceability.
• Hire, train, and develop hourly associates and supervisors. Manage labor to productivity standards and staffing guidelines; manage overtime and attrition against plan.
• Launch the Long Beach campus: hire leaders, write standard work, and run it to headquarters measures from day one.
• Act as first user of new systems and layouts. Test warehouse system changes before go-live; accept or reject layout and automation handovers from Material Flow Engineering.
The role is based in Costa Mesa, CA and requires on-site presence. Candidates outside the area must be willing to relocate. Extended hours and weekend work required to meet production milestones. Travel up to 25% of the time. U.S. Person status required due to access to export-controlled material and data.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, operations, industrial engineering, business, or related field, OR 15+ years equivalent operations experience
• 12+ years in fulfillment, distribution, 3PL, or warehouse operations, including leadership of a high-volume site
• 6+ years leading managers or supervisors across multiple shifts or sites, managing 200+ hourly associates with full ownership of safety, labor, and productivity results
• Experience managing labor to engineered or measured productivity standards by process
• Experience running warehouse operations on a warehouse management system
• Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
• U.S. Person status required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Launched a new fulfillment, distribution, or production supply site from pre-opening through steady rate
• Builds own analysis in SQL, Python, or BI tools
• Experience supplying manufacturing production lines through kitting, kanban, and line-side replenishment
• Aerospace, defense, or regulated manufacturing experience, including custody of government-furnished property
• Led operations side of warehouse management system implementation or migration
• Lean or Six Sigma certification, or documented kaizen results
• Supervisors you hired and developed were later promoted
• Master's degree in supply chain, engineering, or business
• Eligible to obtain and maintain active U.S. Secret or Top Secret security clearance
