Morning Consult is a global market decision intelligence company that combines proprietary high-frequency data with applied AI to help leaders make smarter decisions. You will join as Director of Marketing Operations, owning the systems, data, and processes that convert Morning Consult's marketing efforts into pipeline while building an AI-native function.
This is a player-coach role where you'll manage a Senior Marketing Operations Specialist while remaining hands-on. You report to Business Operations with a dotted line to Marketing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Strategy & Budget: Set the marketing operations roadmap, own the martech stack and budget, and plan targets and spend in partnership with Finance.
- Operating Rhythm: Run intake, prioritization, and weekly funnel reviews across Marketing, Business Development, and RevOps.
- Lifecycle & Routing: Own lifecycle stages, lead scoring, MQL/SQL definitions, and lead routing to Business Development with documented SLAs.
- HubSpot–Salesforce Integration: Own the integration and data model to ensure every lead reaches the correct owner with clean data.
- Reporting: Build lifecycle-stage funnel reporting and paid media attribution analysis; guide leadership on spend allocation.
- Privacy & Data Quality: Own global consent compliance (GDPR, CCPA, CAN-SPAM) in partnership with Legal; manage enrichment, deduplication, and launch QA.
- AI Deployment: Ship AI agents and automations across scoring, routing, enrichment, QA, and reporting; own the AI roadmap and measure ROI.
- People Management: Manage and develop a Senior Specialist; shape future headcount planning.
Success in year one means Marketing, RevOps, Sales, and Finance all trust the funnel reporting; campaigns launch with clean tracking and reliable measurement; MQL, lifecycle, and attribution definitions are documented and consistently used; and modern AI tools and marketing technologies are successfully deployed and integrated.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years in marketing operations or related function, with 8+ years hands-on in marketing automation.
- Deep HubSpot and Salesforce expertise required, including Process Builder, APEX functions, and custom object deployment for marketing use cases.
- B2B experience mandatory, including a role at a post-Series B or C company (roughly 200–1,000 people) with a 30+ person sales team.
- Proven track record owning lifecycle operations, lead routing, and MQL-based reporting, working closely with Business Development or SDRs.
- Experience supporting paid marketing and running ABM or supporting enterprise selling.
- Working knowledge of GDPR and global consent requirements.
- Demonstrated people management experience and ownership of a function, roadmap, and budget.
- Strong project management skills; ability to run multiple initiatives and switch context without losing detail.
- Experience building with AI (not just using it): shipped agents or automations using Claude Code, Cursor, Clay, n8n, or similar tools with measurable impact.
- Proficiency with forms, landing pages, UTMs, and tracking implementation.
- Clear communicator who influences senior stakeholders with data-driven insights.
