DNSFilter is a rapidly growing network security company protecting customers with AI-driven threat intelligence and content filtering. We are seeking a Director of IT to own internal identity, endpoints, and employee technology end-to-end at our Tampa office. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will directly operate Okta, Google Workspace, and MDM platforms while leading one Senior IT Support Analyst. You will be accountable for whether controls actually work, not just whether they are configured. This role reports to the SVP of Operations and partners closely with Security, People, Finance, and all departments. Key Responsibilities: Identity and Access: Own Okta administration (user management, SSO, MFA policy, lifecycle rules, Desktop MFA). Manage Google Workspace administration including groups, distribution lists, and directory hygiene. Own the complete onboarding, offboarding, and change management lifecycle. Partner with Security to define access models for contractors and BYOD users. Reduce manual access requests through automation and self-service. Endpoint and Fleet: Own Mosyle for Apple and JumpCloud for other devices (enrollment, configuration, app deployment, patch management, inventory). Ensure all company devices are enrolled through supervised paths. Maintain accurate fleet coverage reporting. Support Security's endpoint security tooling rollout. Asset Lifecycle: Own hardware procurement through Insight and CDW, zero-touch enrollment, asset tagging, and drop-ship logistics. Redeploy returned devices under three years old; route older devices to certified recycling. Maintain accurate device records reconciled to headcount, MDM, and Finance. Manage warranty, repair, refresh cycles, and budgets. Own secure device retirement and recovery from departing employees. Application Portfolio and Spend: Maintain full business application inventory. Manage licenses against actual usage and bring renewals forward with recommendations. Own the IT budget, forecast spend, and explain variances. Manage IT vendor relationships and contracts. Workplace Technology: Own the Tampa office technology stack including Ubiquiti (UniFi network, wifi, Access with facial recognition, Protect cameras). Manage physical access and surveillance systems in partnership with People Ops and Security. Own conference room AV, printers, and shared equipment. Ensure reliable in-office and hybrid meetings. Service Delivery: Own Zendesk helpdesk (intake, taxonomy, SLAs, satisfaction measurement). Report monthly IT metrics and explain variances. Publish a service catalog. Availability and Continuity: Define and run IT incident escalation paths. Own IT business continuity planning. Set clear expectations on response, escalation, and after-hours coverage. Automation and AI: Extend internal automation covering onboarding, offboarding, directory sync, and ticket triage. Build integrations and reporting across Okta, Google, Mosyle, JumpCloud, and Zendesk. Convert solved tickets into documented runbooks. Security Partnership: Implement Security-defined controls and provide audit evidence. Own SOC 2 control operation and audit evidence. Run access reviews (quarterly for high-risk, annually for full portfolio). Growth and Integration: Lead IT side of acquisitions (integrating identity, devices, applications, support). Develop consolidation plans with realistic sequencing. Leadership: Lead, coach, and grow one Senior IT Support Analyst. Set operating cadence for reviews, reporting, and escalations. Requirements: - 7+ years in IT, including 2+ years leading an internal IT function or team - Deep hands-on experience administering an enterprise identity provider, ideally Okta (SSO, MFA policy, lifecycle management) - Hands-on experience administering Apple MDM at fleet scale (ideally Mosyle or Jamf) plus non-Apple endpoint experience - Experience owning Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 administration - Experience owning hardware asset lifecycle (inventory accuracy, remote provisioning, returns, secure retirement) - Experience owning IT budget, vendor contracts, and software licensing - Demonstrated experience building or materially improving onboarding, offboarding, and change management lifecycle - Experience operating IT controls under SOC 2 or comparable framework, including producing audit evidence - Track record of automating recurring work rather than absorbing it - Ability to communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders about issues and resolutions - Located in Tampa, FL area and able to work on-site from Tampa office - Must be eligible to work in region without sponsorship now or in future Bonus qualifications: Experience at a security company or customer-facing IT hygiene environment; scripting/automation experience (Python, Google Apps Script); AI tooling experience (agents, MCP servers, LLM-assisted deflection); acquisition integration experience; familiarity with Zendesk, BambooHR, Ramp, Vanta, or 1Password.
