Crusoe is a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company that owns and operates the full stack—from power generation to cloud services—to support the world's most demanding AI workloads. As Director of Infrastructure Security, you will lead a team of 5–6 infrastructure security engineers in designing, building, and operating foundational security layers across a hyper-scale GPU-cloud fleet.
This is an elite engineering leadership role, not a traditional cloud security audit function. You will report directly to the Senior Director of Security Engineering and own two core pillars: Platform Security Engineering and Infrastructure Security Access and Posture Management.
Key responsibilities include:
**Team Leadership & Organizational Transformation**: Inherit and mentor an established team of infrastructure security engineers. Diagnose execution bottlenecks, resolve cultural alignment issues, and elevate the team into a high-throughput engineering organization. Transition the team from reactive operational task handling to a proactive platform engineering model with clear shipping cadences, code quality standards, and architectural roadmaps. Strategically hire junior talent to complement existing strengths in systems security and automation.
**Platform Core Security Services**: Build and operate core identity and cryptographic primitives, including workload identity (SPIFFE/SPIRE), enterprise secrets-as-a-service (HashiCorp Vault), and PKI across multi-tenant GPU environments. Deploy and manage eBPF-based security sensors at scale across bare-metal and virtualized fleets for high-fidelity observability and kernel-level runtime protection. Architect and enforce zero-trust, just-in-time access mechanisms for engineers and operators. Build mechanisms for secure boot, hardware roots of trust, firmware update delivery, and software supply chain verification. Create platforms to continuously track, prioritize, and remediate vulnerability states across millions of assets.
**Infrastructure Security Posture & IAM**: Secure Crusoe's multi-layer control plane across public cloud (GCP) and multi-gigawatt on-premise AI data center infrastructure. Eliminate standing admin privileges and long-lived secrets by architecting least-privilege RBAC/ABAC models. Identify and eliminate systemic architectural risks through decoupling, isolation, and hard boundary enforcement. Perform continuous security architecture reviews and enforce change management through infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, OpenTofu, Kubernetes operators).
You will have direct executive backing, dedicated headcount, and full support to build one of the premier infrastructure security teams in the AI industry.
