Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Director of Field Services Planning to build and lead a team responsible for ensuring the availability of critical maintenance materials, spare parts, and consumables across deployed military systems. This role owns the complete material flow for Field Services and Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) inventory planning and strategy across multiple asset lines, from strategic procurement through timely deployment in maintenance activities.
Key responsibilities include overseeing a growing team of Field Service Material Planners embedded across divisions; collaborating with Sales, Field Service, Maintenance, Operations, and Reliability Engineering to anticipate demand for both preventative and corrective maintenance; developing comprehensive critical spares lists with appropriate stocking strategies for mission-critical and hazard-zone deployments; designing inventory control strategies including min/max levels, safety stock calculations, and reorder points for intermittent and event-driven demand patterns; monitoring part usage and failure rates to drive continuous improvement; proactively identifying and expediting at-risk materials to prevent supply chain disruptions; and ensuring Field Service and MRO planning aligns with Operations & Sustainment contract requirements.
The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of supply chain planning, inventory management, and MRO planning experience in fast-paced manufacturing, aerospace & defense, or technical environments. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a technical field (manufacturing, engineering, analytics, computer science) or business field (supply chain management, operations, S&OP, materials planning); demonstrated ability to solve complex operational challenges creatively in resource-limited environments; excellent cross-functional collaboration skills; experience with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, NetSuite) and CRM platforms (Salesforce); and willingness to travel up to 10% and relocate to Costa Mesa if not already local. This is an in-office role requiring onsite presence.
