Datadog is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead a multi-team engineering organization at its Tel Aviv site, one of the company's fastest-moving product hubs. The site develops across Product Analytics, Universal Service Monitoring, Security Monitoring, and Software Delivery tools. In this role, you will manage and grow a team of talented engineers, ensuring high-quality delivery while fostering career development and motivation. You'll hire and develop senior talent—both individual contributors and engineering managers—raising the seniority bar as the site scales. A key responsibility is coaching and developing engineering managers to build the leadership layer needed for growth. You'll partner closely with product managers and designers to shape product direction, working hand-in-hand to decide what to build. Cross-site collaboration is essential: you'll coordinate with engineering leaders in Tel Aviv, Paris, and the US on multi-geography initiatives and help shape the future of the Tel Aviv site and broader engineering organization. You should be a product-building leader with strong product sense, comfortable working across technical domains and ramping quickly into new areas. You'll integrate AI-first thinking into how you lead and how teams build. You must have experience hiring, growing, and developing engineering teams with long-term career plans, and managing managers in multi-layer organizations at scale. Deep technical depth in at least one area—web/product analytics, agentic or developer-experience products, low-level systems/networking, or security engineering—is valued. Datadog emphasizes office culture and collaboration; this role is based in Tel Aviv with an expectation of on-site presence to anchor and grow the team. You'll set the technical and cultural bar on-site, building a site rather than inheriting a finished one.
