Shield AI is seeking a Director of Electrical Engineering to lead multiple teams responsible for the electrical design, avionics systems, and manufacturing operations of the V-BAT autonomous aircraft platform. This is a hands-on engineering leadership role where you will own the technical health and reliability of avionics systems that power Shield AI's defense and autonomous vehicle products.
You will manage teams spanning electrical design engineering, avionics root cause analysis, and avionics build/test operations. Your responsibilities include leading people and processes that take field issues through root cause analysis to durable design improvements. You will operate at the intersection of design, manufacturing, quality, and fleet support, ensuring that your teams deliver systems with exceptional reliability, performance, and manufacturability.
Key accountabilities:
- Direct and mentor multiple engineering teams focused on electrical design and avionics
- Own technical health and reliability of avionics systems for the V-BAT platform
- Drive root cause analysis processes and implement design improvements
- Collaborate across design, manufacturing, quality, and field support functions
- Ensure systems meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability standards
- Support global operations across US, Europe, Middle East, and Asia-Pacific regions
