Prosper Marketplace, the first peer-to-peer lending platform in the United States, is seeking a Director of Credit Risk Analytics to lead underwriting and portfolio credit strategies for its Credit Card business. This is a leadership role responsible for overseeing credit quality and performance, managing the full lifecycle of credit risk, and driving innovation in credit decision-making through machine learning and advanced analytics. You will develop cutting-edge underwriting, portfolio credit, pricing, and line strategies using data-driven insights and ML/AI models. The role requires translating complex analytical findings into actionable recommendations for executive leadership and the Credit Risk Committee, balancing risk-return trade-offs with creative problem-solving. You will serve as a trusted voice to investors, communicating complex credit data into clear, compelling narratives. This position demands seamless cross-functional collaboration with Capital Markets, Product, Engineering, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and Marketing teams. You will manage risk appetite to ensure credit losses remain within defined thresholds, identify and evaluate new products and technologies, and monitor credit performance at granular segment levels to spot emerging trends and implement strategy changes. The ideal candidate brings broad, in-depth credit card expertise and is comfortable being hands-on while guiding the team to develop automated credit decision strategies. You will own the end-to-end process to ensure credit strategies perform as expected, supporting business growth while managing credit losses effectively. REQUIREMENTS: - Master's degree or higher in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or related field - 10+ years of experience managing credit risk within Credit Card businesses with strong business acumen and deep credit management knowledge - 5+ years of people leadership experience with proven ability to develop and mentor high-performing teams - Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and meet deadlines without compromising quality - Outstanding thought leadership with capability to build, refine, and elevate credit strategy frameworks through innovative approaches - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to articulate complex analyses and technical subject matter clearly to internal stakeholders, external partners, and senior management - Strong collaborative mindset and business-owner mentality; ability to partner effectively across functions
