UnitX is building an AI-powered machine-vision platform for autonomous manufacturing, helping manufacturers detect complex defects, automate inspection, and improve production quality. The company is expanding into high-growth markets including AI data-center infrastructure and next-generation AI hardware. As Director of Business Development & Strategic Partnerships, you will lead the charge into major strategic accounts, developing them from initial engagement through pilot, production deployment, and global expansion. This is a hands-on, externally facing role requiring you to build executive relationships while working deeply with customers' engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams. Key responsibilities include developing and executing go-to-market strategy for emerging verticals (AI data centers, advanced computing infrastructure, next-gen AI hardware); breaking into a targeted set of high-value strategic accounts including leading AI infrastructure companies and hyper-scale technology platforms; building relationships with senior leaders across manufacturing, quality, engineering, operations, and procurement; mapping each account's global manufacturing ecosystem; identifying high-value applications for AI-powered inspection and automation; translating customer challenges into product and commercial opportunities; leading opportunities from discovery through commercial negotiation and global deployment; coordinating with sales, application engineering, and service teams across North America and Asia-Pacific; and bringing market insights back to the product team. Success in the first 12 months means establishing credible relationships and clear account plans within a focused portfolio of strategic targets, building a qualified pipeline of POCs with high-value manufacturing applications, converting initial engagements into paid pilot programs, and creating a pathway for North American engagements to expand globally. You bring 7+ years of experience in business development, strategic accounts, enterprise sales, or partnerships applying advanced technology (AI or sensors) to industrial customers. You have demonstrated success breaking into complex enterprise accounts from a cold start, selling technically complex solutions with multiple stakeholders and extended qualification cycles, and understand how advanced hardware moves from design through high-volume manufacturing. You engage credibly with both senior executives and technical teams, have experience coordinating opportunities across North America and Asia-Pacific (Vietnam, Japan, China, Korea, Thailand), strong commercial judgment connecting technical value to measurable ROI, a proactive and resourceful working style, excellent communication skills, and willingness to travel internationally.
