Suno is seeking a Director of Business Development focused on Publishing Partnerships to lead commercial strategy and deal execution with music publishers. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, you will serve as a lead dealmaker shaping how Suno partners with the publishing ecosystem at the intersection of music, technology, and AI.
Key responsibilities include supporting Suno's commercial strategy for music industry partnerships, driving alignment across product, legal, finance, and operations teams. You will negotiate and close complex deals with publishers, including pioneering first-of-kind deal structures in an emerging category. The role requires building and maintaining senior-level relationships with major publishing companies to expand Suno's reputation and credibility in the industry.
You will monitor the competitive and evolving landscape in AI music, advising leadership on market dynamics, industry engagement strategy, and partnership opportunities. You'll develop scalable approaches to contract management, partner operations, and long-term industry collaboration. As Suno's commercial footprint grows, you will support strategic initiatives across ecosystem partnerships and platform integrations.
Required qualifications include 10+ years of business development and/or commercial negotiation experience in music and digital technology. You must have a demonstrated track record negotiating and closing complex, high-value deals, including forging first-of-a-kind partnerships. Direct experience working with music publishers is essential. You need strong stakeholder influence and alignment skills across multiple organizational levels, excellent communication and presentation abilities, and proven capacity to execute multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.
The ideal candidate demonstrates high autonomy, ownership, and strategic judgment with comfort navigating situations lacking established playbooks. Strong product intuition and experience collaborating closely with product and technical teams is important. You should thrive in fast-paced, high-growth technology environments. Regular business travel to Suno's US offices is expected. London-based employees will be engaged through Suno's UK employer of record or consulting arrangement.
