Suno is seeking a Director of Business Development focused on Publishing Partnerships to lead the company's commercial strategy and deal-making with music publishers. This is a senior individual contributor role reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, positioned at the intersection of music, technology, and AI.
You will be responsible for supporting Suno's commercial strategy for partnerships with music industry companies, driving alignment across product, legal, finance, and operations teams. Key responsibilities include negotiating and closing complex, high-value deals with publishers—including first-of-a-kind deal structures in an emerging category. You'll build and maintain senior-level relationships with major publishing companies to expand Suno's reputation and credibility in the music ecosystem.
Additionally, you'll monitor the competitive and evolving landscape in AI music, advising leadership on market dynamics, industry engagement strategy, and partnership opportunities. You'll develop scalable approaches to contract management, partner operations, and long-term industry collaboration, while supporting strategic initiatives across ecosystem partnerships and platform integrations as Suno's commercial footprint grows.
The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of experience in business development and commercial negotiations within music and digital technology. You should have a demonstrated track record of negotiating and closing complex, high-value deals, including forging first-of-a-kind partnerships, with specific experience working with music publishers. You'll need strong stakeholder influence and alignment skills across multiple organizational levels, excellent communication and negotiation abilities, and the capacity to execute multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.
You should thrive with high autonomy and ownership, comfortable navigating situations without an established playbook. Strong product intuition and experience collaborating closely with product and technical teams is essential. Experience in fast-paced, high-growth technology environments is required. The role is based in either the LA or NYC office and requires onsite work.
