Jerry.ai is a fintech platform that simplifies the ownership experience for major assets—starting with car insurance and expanding into home, motorcycle, and other physical assets. The company has grown to 5M+ customers, raised $240M+, scaled revenue 70X, and achieved profitability in early 2024. As Director of Business Development & Partnerships, you will own the end-to-end partnerships motion for Jerry's new product lines (home, motorcycle, and adjacent verticals). This is a newly defined space with no existing playbook—you'll be scoping what to build rather than executing a proven formula. Key responsibilities: - Build and manage the partnerships pipeline from initial outreach through signed agreement and successful onboarding - Lead independent conversations with insurance carriers and partners, qualifying fit, understanding needs, structuring value propositions, and closing deals - Design creative deal structures for non-standard partners when the obvious approach doesn't work - Own partner success post-close, ensuring new partners ramp, stay engaged, and become long-term relationships - Contribute to vertical strategy by feeding ground-level partner insights into product sequencing and structuring decisions You'll report directly to the VP of Partnerships and work cross-functionally with product, engineering, data science, legal, finance, and executive leadership on complex, multi-month deal cycles. The role requires someone who is truth-seeking, creative, meticulous, and comfortable breaking ambiguous problems into clear steps and driving them to completion. Required background: 5+ years in business development, partnerships, or strategy consulting with a track record of closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals. Experience building 0-to-1 (launching a new partnership category, entering a new market, or building a BD function from scratch). A combination of at least two of: consulting/structured problem-solving, BD/sales execution, or early-stage startup operating experience. Demonstrated ability to engage senior external stakeholders and navigate large partner organizations independently. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
