Jerry.ai is a fintech platform that simplifies the ownership experience for major assets—starting with car insurance and expanding into home, motorcycle, and other physical assets. The company has grown to 5M+ customers, raised $240M+, scaled revenue 70X, and achieved profitability in early 2024. As Director of Business Development & Partnerships, you will own the end-to-end partnerships motion for Jerry's new product lines, reporting directly to the VP of Partnerships. This is a high-impact role that combines strategic deal structuring with hands-on execution in a rapidly scaling organization. Key responsibilities include: - Building and managing the partnerships pipeline for new product verticals from initial outreach through signed agreements and successful onboarding - Leading independent conversations with insurance carriers and strategic partners, qualifying fit, understanding needs, and structuring tailored value propositions - Designing creative deal structures for non-standard partners, finding alternative arrangements when conventional approaches don't work - Owning partner success post-close, ensuring new partners ramp effectively and develop into long-term relationships - Contributing to vertical strategy by translating ground-level partner insights into product and go-to-market decisions You'll work in a lean, flat organization with heavy cross-functional collaboration across product, engineering, data science, legal, finance, and executive leadership. The role involves complex, multi-month deal cycles with significant ambiguity—there is no existing playbook for the newer verticals, so you'll be defining the partnership model as you build it. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in business development, partnerships, or strategy consulting with a proven track record closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals. You should have experience building 0-to-1 (launching new partnership categories, entering new markets, or building BD functions from scratch). A background combining at least two of the following is preferred: consulting/structured problem-solving, BD/sales execution, or early-stage startup operating experience. You must be able to engage senior external stakeholders independently, communicate complex structures clearly to executives, and thrive in ambiguous, high-ownership environments.
