Metropolis Technologies is seeking a Director of Business Development to lead regional growth across Minneapolis and Milwaukee. You will own the full sales cycle for a greenfield territory, from prospecting and relationship development through negotiation and close. The role combines strategic account development with hands-on deal execution, requiring you to identify net-new business opportunities, conduct consultative discovery with prospects, lead client presentations, and structure complex deals with strong P&L understanding. Key responsibilities include: owning pipeline development and sales performance metrics in CRM; building relationships across key stakeholder groups (asset managers, ownership groups, real estate partners); working cross-functionally with marketing, operations, legal, and underwriting teams; staying current on industry trends and emerging technologies; and traveling regionally to support clients and prospecting activities. You will leverage AI tools and modern sales infrastructure (Salesforce, CRM platforms) to drive efficiency and scale. The role requires strong negotiation skills, ability to manage multi-threaded deals, and proven track record of meeting or exceeding quota in net-new territories. You should be data-literate with experience in pipeline management and forecasting, and able to communicate value propositions creatively across diverse audiences. The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of B2B business development or sales experience, with demonstrated success selling into real estate, asset management, or ownership groups. Experience in proptech, mobility, or related industries is a plus but not required. This is positioned as a key individual contributor role with significant autonomy over a regional territory.
