The Middle East team delivers Anduril's platforms, systems, and integrated solutions to regional defense and commercial customers. As the team rapidly expands, this Director of Business Development role requires a high-initiative, collaborative individual with ownership and responsibility for shaping, capturing, and executing business development opportunities with international partners.
Key responsibilities include:
• Generate and capture opportunities in the Middle East, involving significant international travel (50-75%), trade show coordination, and deep understanding of country-specific budget cycles. You will be responsible for growing revenue by developing expertise in the existing and prospective customer base, current or planned programmatic and technical roadmaps, and the competitive landscape. This expertise will inform capture strategies, revenue forecasts, and technology development plans.
• Manage continuous engagements with current and future clients, generate growth strategies, monitor buying cycles for opportunities, and lead specific proposal and capture efforts.
• Develop capture strategies by providing cohesive business plans and execution models that outline acquisition plans, create alignment to investment strategies, and drive toward program of record execution. Engage key stakeholders to shape requirements, identify and secure relevant funding, and develop compelling win themes and supplier strategies for competitive captures.
• Grow existing business by representing all business lines across Anduril's portfolio. Partner with execution teams and product engineers to expand business with current clients, leveraging existing partnerships to explore new areas of work and opportunities.
• Communicate Anduril's value to clients, partners, competitors, and the public. Project the company's ethos and convey insights about building next-generation defense technology and competitive advantages.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Prior acquisition or operational experience with defense systems across a variety of roles and missions
• Prior experience working with foreign militaries or ministries of defense, with emphasis on current operational needs and relationships across key partners in the Middle East
• Excellent writing and communication skills with experience presenting to senior executives and customers
• Ability to travel 50-75%
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S., U.K., Canada, New Zealand, or Australian Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience shaping and leading capture efforts in the defense industry
• Prior experience working with FMS/DCS and direct international customers with strong understanding of FMS/DCS processes, including navigating licensing and releasability
• High ownership and ability to work in a fast-paced, highly entrepreneurial, and creative environment
• Builder who is adaptive and can lead new and innovative approaches to market
• Comfortable working in limited resource environments
• Ability to speak Arabic at an intermediate or advanced level
