Salary: USD 160,000 - 180,000 / annual
Metropolis Technologies is seeking a Director of Business Development focused on Future Mobility to join their fast-growing sales team in the San Francisco Bay Area. You will own a regional territory, driving net-new business development and managing the full sales cycle from prospecting through negotiation and close. The role emphasizes relationship-building and leveraging your network to expand Metropolis' presence in parking, mobility, and real estate technology.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the full sales cycle in the San Francisco Bay Area territory with focus on Future Mobility use cases
- Identifying and developing net-new business opportunities through cold outreach, networking, and multiple lead generation channels
- Using a consultative approach to uncover client pain points and develop customized, solution-oriented proposals
- Leading client presentations, discovery sessions, and proposal delivery
- Building and creating new relationships across key stakeholder groups in asset management, ownership, and real estate
- Working cross-functionally with underwriting, financial modeling, marketing, operations, and legal teams
- Managing pipeline development and sales performance metrics in CRM
- Staying current on industry trends and emerging technologies, particularly AI and computer vision applications
- Regional travel to support clients and prospecting activities
Metropolis is pioneering the "Recognition Economy" using AI and computer vision to transform parking and expand into retail and hospitality. The company operates on an office-first model requiring four days per week on-site to foster collaboration and innovation.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of B2B business development, sales, or related experience
- Experience selling into asset managers, ownership groups, or real estate partners
- Demonstrated ability to create new enterprise relationships and generate opportunities
- Strong understanding of P&L and creative deal structuring
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quota in net-new, greenfield territories
- Skilled in managing complex, multi-threaded deals with strong negotiation and closing capabilities
- Creative approach to communicating value propositions to diverse audiences
- Data-literate with pipeline management and forecasting experience
- Proficiency in Salesforce and other sales CRM platforms
- Strong familiarity with the San Francisco Bay Area
- Willingness to travel regionally as needed
- Experience leveraging AI tools to transform static workflows into responsive, high-output processes
