Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, seeks a Director of Business Development for the Advanced Effects business line within the Air Dominance and Strike Division. This role is responsible for identifying, shaping, and capturing new opportunities for ground and air-launched advanced effects primarily with the US Army and international partners. Key responsibilities include generating and capturing US Army Advanced Effects opportunities by developing deep customer understanding, programmatic roadmaps, and competitive intelligence to inform capture strategies and revenue forecasts. You will manage continuous client engagements, develop growth strategies, monitor buying cycles, and lead proposal and capture efforts. The role requires developing comprehensive capture strategies that outline acquisition plans, align with investment strategies, and drive toward program-of-record execution. Success involves engaging key stakeholders to shape requirements, securing relevant funding, and developing compelling win themes and supplier strategies for competitive bids. You will drive product development and program transitions by delivering nascent concepts to clients, shaping early design of experiments, and facilitating collaborative R&D toward ACAT 1 programs. Internally, you translate client problem sets into engineering requirements, identify key milestones, and provide clear communications across the organization. Your client assessments will inform new product decisions and ensure Anduril's product suite remains best-in-class. While focused on new business capture, you will also grow existing business by partnering with execution teams and product engineers to expand work with current clients and leverage existing partnerships for new opportunities. You represent Anduril to clients, partners, competitors, and the public, projecting the company's ethos and conveying insights about next-generation defense technology development. Required: minimum 7 years creating or supporting new missiles/weapons programs including requirements definition and acquisition strategies; prior experience with US Army program offices and deep understanding of Army customer community, requirements processes, and operational needs; prior acquisition or operational experience with missile systems across surface fires, air-launched effects, and air defense domains; excellent writing and communication skills with experience presenting to senior executives; ability to travel 50–75%; eligible to obtain and maintain active US Top Secret security clearance.
