iSpot.tv is transforming how brands, agencies, publishers, and platforms measure advertising outcomes across linear, streaming, and digital ecosystems. As Director of AI, you will lead the team building and shipping AI-powered capabilities across iSpot's Creative, Audience, and Outcomes (CAO) product lines, taking AI concepts from prototype to production at scale. You will own the full lifecycle of AI features: intelligent creative analysis, audience insights, agentic workflows, and next-generation outcome measurement. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll prototype, review architectures, write code, and work directly alongside engineers to deliver customer value. You'll partner closely with Product Management, Data Science, and Platform teams to sequence work, resolve dependencies, and ensure reliable, evaluated, and economical AI systems. Key responsibilities include leading day-to-day execution of the AI engineering roadmap, building and operating customer-facing AI capabilities including generative AI features and agentic workflows, owning architecture and technical patterns for AI services (model selection, orchestration, evaluation, guardrails, cost, latency), and hiring and developing a high-performing team of AI and ML engineers. You'll establish evaluation and experimentation frameworks to make AI quality measurable, instrument and manage AI system economics, evaluate emerging models and vendors, and embed responsible AI practices into every solution. You'll report progress and risks clearly to engineering and executive leadership, partner with data science to productionize models at scale, and work directly with enterprise customers to shape and validate AI capabilities. Required: 10+ years software engineering experience including 3+ years leading engineering teams, demonstrated experience shipping AI/ML capabilities into production products, working knowledge of modern AI technologies (LLMs, agentic systems, retrieval architectures, embeddings, evaluation methods), strong software engineering fundamentals (distributed systems, APIs, data pipelines, testing, production operations), hands-on comfort in codebases and production traces, and practical understanding of AI safety, data governance, and enterprise security. Preferred: advertising tech, media measurement, or marketing tech background; experience building agentic AI systems in production; MLOps and LLM observability expertise; large-scale data processing experience; direct work with enterprise customers; advanced technical degree.
