Salary: USD 170,000 - 200,000 / annual
Unacast is a leading provider of global location intelligence and human mobility analytics serving both private and public sector organizations. The Director of Accounting & Controller will lead the accounting function for this high-growth company, serving as a strategic partner to the CFO while maintaining deep technical expertise.
Key responsibilities include owning the monthly financial close process for three consolidating U.S. entities, including reconciliations, accruals, consolidations, and estimates. You will prepare timely and accurate financial reports and statements in compliance with U.S. GAAP for internal and external stakeholders, and produce cash forecasts, sales metrics, cost analyses, and commission schedules.
Additional duties encompass managing the company's cash cycle in partnership with Sales and Operations, overseeing expense reimbursement policies and compliance, evaluating accounting practices to drive continuous improvement, and designing financial controls to safeguard company resources. You will oversee external audit, tax, and compliance engagements including sales tax and federal/state/local reporting, manage corporate depository relationships, and support corporate development and financing diligence.
You will lead and manage the accounting team and serve as administrator for NetSuite ERP, commission, and AP/expense report systems. The ideal candidate is process-oriented, detail-focused, comfortable operating independently, and skilled at influencing cross-functional partners.
Required qualifications include 10+ years of accounting experience with demonstrated career progression, CPA certification, and a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Early career public accounting experience is preferred. You must have deep expertise in technical accounting, financial close, and reporting, with keen understanding of ASC 606 and experience with software/data license (recurring revenue) business models. NetSuite expertise including system administration and training others is essential.
