Neuralink is seeking a Digital IC Design Engineer to join the Brain Interfaces SoC Department, which delivers chip architecture and silicon implementation for neural recording and stimulation system-on-chip (SoC) devices enabling brain-machine interfaces. The role focuses on micro-architecture and register-transfer level (RTL) implementation of digital intellectual property and systems, with emphasis on high-throughput, low-power digital signal processors and general-purpose hardware accelerators. Key responsibilities include: • Design and RTL implementation of low-power digital signal processors, hardware accelerators, graphics processing units, and radio/serial link MAC/PHY interfaces • Hardware/software interface design and optimization in collaboration with firmware engineers • Application-specific architecture optimization including complex system modeling for energy and performance benchmarks, workload analysis, and energy/performance profiling • Architecture-level design trade-offs leveraging process technology and workload characteristics • Cost and performance balancing under manufacturing process variation • Collaboration with verification engineers on silicon bring-up testing Required qualifications include a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; 5+ years of digital design experience; expertise in SystemVerilog, C/C++, and Python; and demonstrated experience working on complex digital systems from architecture through RTL using industry-standard tools. Strong background in digital signal processing pipeline design from algorithm to RTL is essential. Preferred experience includes architecture optimization with process technology customization, verification and physical design of complex digital systems, SoC testing and debugging, functional modeling with SystemVerilog/SystemC, tool flow automation, embedded design, processor instruction set architecture design, and compiler back-end customization. The position offers competitive compensation with equity (RSUs), medical/dental/vision insurance, paid holidays, commuter benefits, and meals. Neuralink emphasizes rapid advancement for high-impact team members and the opportunity to work on transformative brain-computer interface technology.
