Pathos is a next-generation biotech company building an AI-powered platform for drug development. The company uses foundation models and proprietary AI systems paired with 200+ petabytes of multimodal oncology data to improve clinical trial design, patient selection, and biomarker strategy. Pathos operates with a flat structure—small teams of 2-4 subject matter experts command hundreds of AI agents to execute work at scale, delivering meaningful outcomes in hours instead of weeks.
As a DevSecOps Engineer, you will be responsible for securing and maintaining infrastructure that handles some of the most sensitive data in healthcare: patient outcomes, clinical trial records, and multimodal datasets linked to patient outcomes. This is a hands-on role where you'll design and implement security controls, build secure CI/CD pipelines, manage infrastructure-as-code, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (HIPAA, FDA, etc.). You'll work directly with small, high-autonomy teams and have the opportunity to shape security practices from the ground up in a fast-moving, AI-first organization.
You should be an experienced operator comfortable with ambiguity, able to specify what needs to happen, orchestrate systems at scale, and make high-judgment calls. Experience building and shipping secure systems in regulated environments (healthcare, fintech, defense) is a strong plus. You'll thrive in an environment where there are no layers of approval and everyone ships.
