Salary: USD 180,000 - 240,000 / annual
ConductorAI is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to help build and deploy mission-critical applications into classified and air-gapped government networks. You'll work on a small, tight-knit technical team responsible for architecting, deploying, and maintaining systems that integrate AI models, backend APIs, and frontend applications across highly sensitive environments.
Key responsibilities include designing and maintaining system architecture for multi-model AI deployments; collaborating with government partners to deploy software to classified customer environments, including on-site visits; writing and improving Dockerfiles to create efficient, hardened container images with minimal CVEs; developing and maintaining Helm charts for Kubernetes deployments across cloud and on-premises infrastructure; improving CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions; making technical decisions to ensure compliance with FedRAMP, IL5, IL6, and NIST 800-53 standards; and contributing to company strategy and culture as a core team member.
You'll confront interesting infrastructure challenges around deploying large language models and other AI models efficiently and robustly in constrained, classified environments. The role offers the opportunity to shape how code is shipped into highly sensitive networks and to help define and mature architecture and processes as the company grows.
Required qualifications include a minimum Secret-level US DoD security clearance; 4+ years as an individual contributor DevOps engineer in high-stakes customer or company environments; strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and CI/CD; expertise in system design and multi-cloud software deployment; knowledge of cybersecurity principles and FedRAMP/NIST 800-53 compliance; strong communication skills; and a proactive mindset. Experience with LLMs is a plus. You should be comfortable working independently, managing complexity, and taking ownership of hard problems.
