VPL modernizes clinical supply chains for health systems and outpatient pharmacies, serving over 700 hospitals with a 97% customer retention rate. We're seeking a hands-on DevOps Engineer to operate and improve our Azure cloud environments and container-based application platform. In this role, you will help operate and maintain VPL's production and non-production Azure environments. You'll monitor platform health, availability, performance, capacity, security, and cloud consumption. You'll support application builds, releases, and deployments using Azure DevOps and GitOps workflows, and perform routine administration and troubleshooting across Azure services, containers, Kubernetes, networking, storage, identity, and platform dependencies. You'll make controlled infrastructure and configuration changes using infrastructure-as-code and version-controlled processes, perform scheduled maintenance, patching, upgrades, certificate rotation, vulnerability remediation, and resource lifecycle activities. You'll partner with Development, QA, Architecture, and SRE teams to resolve environment issues and improve operational reliability. You'll maintain runbooks and operational documentation and participate in the on-call rotation after completing onboarding. You bring 1–3 years of experience in DevOps, cloud operations, systems administration, application support, software engineering, or a related technical role. You have foundational knowledge of Microsoft Azure (compute, networking, storage, identity, monitoring, security), experience with Git and exposure to automated build or deployment pipelines, and basic understanding of containers, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code concepts. You can script or automate tasks with PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar languages, and have Linux and Windows troubleshooting skills with understanding of networking and security fundamentals. Strong learning agility, attention to detail, communication skills, and a disciplined approach to production changes are essential. Exposure to Azure DevOps, Kubernetes, Terraform, relational databases, messaging platforms, or SaaS production environments is helpful but not required. You'll learn VPL's existing Azure environment and operational practices, develop hands-on proficiency with Kubernetes, Terraform, GitOps, observability, cloud networking, and modern platform operations. You'll progress from performing documented operational tasks to independently resolving common issues and improving automation, building a career path toward advanced DevOps, platform engineering, cloud engineering, or site reliability engineering responsibilities.
