Trulioo, a global leader in digital identity verification, is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join its San Diego office on a hybrid basis (3 days/week in-office). Reporting to the DevOps Manager, you will own the build, maintenance, and optimization of cloud infrastructure and deployment systems on AWS. You will work closely with engineering teams to ensure reliable deployments, scalable systems, and strong operational practices across ECS, EKS, and EC2-based workloads. Key responsibilities include building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions or GitLab CI; managing AWS infrastructure with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform); monitoring system health via Grafana and observability tools; troubleshooting infrastructure and application issues in staging and production; and collaborating with developers to improve deployment workflows and system reliability. You will support containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS), implement logging, alerting, and incident response processes, and contribute to cost optimization and performance tuning within AWS. The role emphasizes proactive identification of reliability, performance, and cost improvements, as well as leveraging AI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows, optimize CI/CD, and enhance operational efficiency. You will maintain clear documentation for infrastructure, processes, and runbooks, and use AI-assisted tooling to draft, refactor, and review Terraform modules and Kubernetes/ECS manifests. Day-to-day tasks include independent handling of infrastructure and deployment work, debugging across application and infrastructure layers, and knowing when to escalate complex architectural decisions. Trulioo is headquartered in Vancouver with strategic hubs in San Diego and Dublin. The company is recognized as a BC Top Employer and offers a hybrid working environment with comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision coverage, retirement plans with company match, paid time off, parental leave, and an annual education & training stipend.
