Papaya Global, a rapidly growing B2B SaaS unicorn in the payroll and payments space, is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join its growing infrastructure team in Kraków. You will own the design, implementation, and maintenance of Papaya Global's cloud infrastructure across development, testing, and production environments on AWS, supporting a global workforce management platform operating in over 160 countries. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing scalable AWS cloud infrastructure; ensuring production environment stability, availability, and performance; developing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions; implementing infrastructure-as-code solutions with Terraform and Terragrunt; and collaborating with the Information Security team to enhance security posture, data isolation, access controls, and network/application security. You will work closely with R&D teams across Poland, India, and Israel to identify inefficiencies in engineering processes and solve them through automation. The role emphasizes leveraging AI-powered engineering and DevOps tools to improve scripting, infrastructure automation, troubleshooting, observability, and operational efficiency. Required qualifications: 3+ years of DevOps engineering experience; 3+ years with AWS; hands-on experience with Kubernetes and microservices; proficiency with GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipelines; proven experience with Terraform and Terragrunt for infrastructure-as-code; familiarity with GitOps workflows and tools; strong AWS networking knowledge (VPCs, subnets, security groups, troubleshooting); experience implementing and maintaining secure AWS environments; and demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally on company-wide initiatives including automation, security, migrations, and monitoring. Nice-to-have skills include AWS certifications (Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer), experience with AWS Bedrock, large-scale cloud environment experience (multi-region, high-availability), and the ability to develop and maintain custom GitHub Actions using JavaScript/Node.js.
