Xona Space Systems is building Pulsar, a next-generation satellite-based positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) system offering centimeter-level precision globally. As Senior Product Developer, Fullstack, you will own the end-to-end development of Xona's user-facing applications, beginning with the customer portal. You will be responsible for the complete vertical stack: backend, database, frontend, and data model.
In this early-stage product development role, you will architect and build applications from the ground up rather than optimizing existing systems. Key responsibilities include:
• Own the full lifecycle of user applications: design, development, deployment, and quality assurance across backend, database, frontend, and data modeling
• Support multiple application variants serving different industries, user personas, and languages
• Architect and plan future product versions with multi-language, multi-currency, international payment, and WCAG accessibility support
• Make expert technology decisions balancing SaaS solutions against in-house development
• Deploy applications to the company's cloud platform following platform engineering standards
• Automate testing, validation, and bug triage to ensure application quality
• Lead the Develop and Delivery phases of the 4D product development process, serving as the primary technical interface and architect for cross-team alignment
• Support customer relations activities including product discovery, demonstrations, official releases, and integrations with international customers
• Integrate with internal systems and external platforms managed by platform engineering (data lake, APIs)
You will work closely with product managers, designers, developers, and other engineering teams in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
• 10+ years of experience in product development, fullstack, frontend, or backend development
• Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, SQL, APIs, and/or MQTT
• Demonstrated ability to autonomously deploy user applications and manage dependencies
• Proven track record shipping complex web or mobile applications at scale on cloud platforms or app stores
• Autonomous proficiency in end-to-end testing, API testing, and test automation
• Proven experience using AI tools in engineering processes with strong judgment on application and timing
• Comfort operating with ambiguity and high ownership in a fast-moving environment
• Must obtain and hold a security clearance at the reliability status level and pass security assessment for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience with SEO and web analytics platforms (Pendo, PostHog)
• Familiarity with map engines (Mapbox) and geospatial data
• Prior startup experience
• Excellent communication skills with ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences
• Fluency in English and French (oral and written)
• Strong problem-solving skills and confidence navigating unstructured environments
• Self-directed with bias toward action; ability to identify problems, propose solutions, and execute
