1Password is seeking an Intermediate Rust Developer for the Everyday Experience team, which owns the core product surfaces and workflows that millions of users interact with daily. The role focuses on reliability, usability, and trust across the platform, sitting at the intersection of product quality, cross-platform foundations, and customer-facing execution.
You will own complex systems work end-to-end, from design through delivery and production support. The team works across product surfaces, backend services, CI/CD, reliability, and operational workflows. You'll be expected to ramp quickly into complex codebases and ambiguous problem spaces, make pragmatic tradeoffs between quality, speed, reliability, and maintainability, and collaborate effectively across Product, Design, Security, Browser, Backend, and Infrastructure teams.
Key responsibilities include acquiring and maintaining solid understanding of the development toolchain, contributing new features and bug fixes, participating in the complete feature lifecycle from planning through release and customer support, ensuring high code quality through testing strategies and documentation, planning solutions ahead of coding, and participating in code reviews and RFC discussions. You'll also help empower the customer support team by addressing tough issues and incorporating high-priority customer feedback.

The company has surpassed $400M ARR and was named to the Forbes Cloud 100 for four consecutive years. The engineering team thoughtfully integrates AI across the development lifecycle—using AI-assisted coding tools, product synthesis, and rapid prototyping—while maintaining clear principles and human accountability at every consequential decision point.
Required qualifications: strong Rust knowledge, ability to own complex systems end-to-end, comfort working across multiple technical domains, strong technical judgment, ability to ramp quickly, collaborative mindset, and effectiveness with AI tooling. Bonus experience includes backend services in Go and hands-on AWS cloud infrastructure work.
