As a Design Solution Engineer, you will operate as an independent technical contributor, owning end-to-end solution development from RFQ through order and customer engagement. Unlike software-focused solutions engineering, this role is rooted in mechanical engineering—applying hands-on technical knowledge of components, assemblies, and manufacturing processes to solve real design challenges.
Key responsibilities include:
- Promote and educate customers (design engineers, mechanical engineers, buyers) on MISUMI products and services
- Create and deliver technical presentations to design engineering groups as a subject matter expert
- Provide technical design support on materials, fits, tolerances, lifespans, engineering calculations, sizing, and CAD models via phone, email, and training
- Handle large, custom, and competitor cross-over quoting opportunities to capture new business
- Work collaboratively with the sales team to achieve growth goals
- Ensure compliance to quality standards and resolve quality claims with Customer Service and Procurement
- Generate expert technical content for webinars, seminars, videos, websites, and marketing collateral
- Perform market research and provide insights for the machine design industry
- Identify internal inefficiencies and suggest solutions
You will balance technical depth, customer interaction, and cross-functional execution to maximize customer adoption and drive business growth.
