The Financial Crime team combines regulatory expertise with data-driven thinking to ensure products meet legal requirements while delivering customer value. As Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for Ireland, you will join the second line of defence in financial crime compliance, applying extensive experience to design, lead, and improve oversight and compliance frameworks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing, maintaining, and updating local and group financial crime policies
- Providing oversight on identification, remediation, and resolution of financial crime risk incidents
- Enhancing internal control measures and developing business risk assessment processes
- Supporting the MLRO in managing key regulatory relationships with the Central Bank of Ireland and GNECB
- Assisting with MLRO reports presented to the Board on AML/CTF and sanctions controls
- Defining and ensuring application of financial crime risk management standards across the organization
- Providing second line of defence support to business and first line teams on product launches, procedures, processes, and systems
- Ensuring financial crime risks are considered in day-to-day operations including product development and customer onboarding
- Supporting and delivering financial crime training for employees
- Participating in financial crime governance committees to challenge initiatives and propose solutions
- Establishing and reviewing dashboards to monitor key risk indicators and identify areas outside risk appetite
This is a senior individual contributor role with significant influence across the organization, requiring deep expertise in anti-financial crime frameworks and the ability to guide and mentor teams without direct people management responsibilities.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of experience in financial crime (AML/CTF and sanctions) covering retail and business customers, including KYC, transaction monitoring, risk assessments, and fraud reporting
- Understanding of innovative financial services products (crypto, buy now-pay later, etc.) and associated financial crime risks
- Knowledge of anti-financial crime frameworks, AML/CTF and sanctions policies, and regulatory recommendations in complex financial organizations
- Familiarity with CBI, EBA, and global requirements for financial crime controls
- Understanding of industry-wide financial crime practices and trends
- Expertise in identifying financial crime risks and vulnerabilities, and advising on best practices
- Track record of stakeholder management with ability to collaborate, negotiate, and communicate effectively
- Fluency in English
NICE TO HAVE:
- Professional qualification from internationally recognized body (e.g., ICA or ACAMS)
- Knowledge of key regulatory issues on anti-fraud and control assessment processes
