HappyRobot is infrastructure for enterprises to build and orchestrate AI workforces. The company, backed by a16z, Y Combinator, Base10, Prysm Capital, and Eurazeo with over $200M raised, enables AI workers to make autonomous decisions and take action across enterprise systems. As a Deployment Strategist, you will partner with Forward Deployed Engineers across the full deployment lifecycle, from discovery through production. You'll lead use case discovery and scoping with senior customer stakeholders, build prototypes hands-on to prove value early, and stay close to delivery to ensure strategic business-value alignment at every decision point. Key responsibilities include: - Strategic Leadership & Use Case Discovery: Partner with C-level executives and VPs to assess AI opportunities and prioritize high-impact use cases. Lead discovery conversations that surface workflows where AI creates the most business value, building trusted relationships to present findings and challenge assumptions at senior levels. - Scoping: Frame impact versus effort with rigor. Pressure-test business value, question whether use cases will deliver maximum impact, and explore reframing opportunities. Map integrations, data, and platform constraints to land realistic plans. - Prototyping: Build prototypes and demos hands-on using the platform and AI-powered coding tools to test ideas end-to-end and prove value before customer commitment. - Program Management: Coordinate work across active deployments in an account. Serve as escalation point for customers and watchout partner for engineers. Stay close enough to spot opportunities and catch drift from high-impact paths. - Prioritization: Sequence use cases within accounts so each deployment compounds the next. Make calls on what gets built when and where to invest time. - Customer Partnership: Be the main business-side point of contact. Build trust with operational and executive stakeholders. Translate AI capabilities into actionable language. - Onsite Embedding: Travel onsite for kickoffs, mapping sessions, and key moments where on-ground presence changes outcomes. - Product Feedback Loop: Bring field signal back to Product and Engineering. Identify reusable patterns and platform evolution needs. The company operates with no role seniority or hierarchy—functioning as a team of builders focused on execution, ownership, and deep customer success. REQUIREMENTS: - Background mixing technical depth with strategic instinct and proven history of building things. Common paths include engineering (Computer Science, electrical, industrial, systems), data science, founding a tech startup, product management, or technical/strategic consulting. - Comfortable coding, primarily Python, using LLMs and AI-powered tools like Claude Code to ship prototypes fast. - Working understanding of APIs, integrations, and how AI agents sit inside enterprise workflows. - Strategic instinct: ability to spot business value behind workflows and translate into impact, effort, and prioritization terms for C-level stakeholders. - Excellent communication skills with both executives and operators. Comfortable translating between business and technical domains. - Proven ability to prioritize ruthlessly across multiple workstreams and drive outcomes, not just activity. - Founder mindset: highly independent, takes ownership, thrives in fast-paced environments.
