Realm Alliance builds AI for the mining industry, integrating with existing mine infrastructure (cameras, SCADA systems, drones, data repositories) to predict equipment failures, detect unsafe behaviors, and optimize operations. The platform deploys intelligence across various use cases: monitoring PPE compliance via computer vision, optimizing froth flotation processes, analyzing longwall shearer performance, and tracking MSHA citation patterns.
As Realm's first Deployment Strategist, you will own the end-to-end deployment lifecycle for each customer—from discovery and deployment planning through adoption and value measurement. You'll work closely with Forward Deployed Engineering and Product teams to turn customer problems into workflows that operators use daily. When the product cannot yet solve a problem, you'll close the gap yourself with manual reports, quick analyses, or prototypes, then make the case for what engineering should build next.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role requiring comfort presenting to executives and working in the field. You'll spend approximately 25% of your time onsite with customers across North America, shadowing operators, supervisors, and site leaders to understand workflows, constraints, and success metrics. You'll own the deployment plan for each customer, set goals, run weekly cadences with their leadership, and hold both Realm and the customer accountable for results, reporting risks early and directly.
Key responsibilities include: building to fill gaps using SQL, Python, or AI coding tools to create reports, dashboards, and lightweight tools that solve immediate customer problems; shaping the product by translating field observations into clear, data-backed requirements; supporting growth by joining sales visits and identifying expansion opportunities; and helping build the processes, playbooks, and culture that will scale Realm's deployment function.
The role suits someone with high agency, deep ownership, and the ability to move quickly in a fully remote, autonomous environment. You'll have direct influence on company growth and the opportunity to shape a category-defining company from the ground up.
**REQUIREMENTS**
Must-Have:
- 3–5 years in a customer-facing technical role (deployment, forward deployed, solutions engineering, TPM, or product) where you owned outcomes, not only tasks
- Track record of leading complex deployments or projects end-to-end, including cross-functional work without formal authority
- Experience building a process, playbook, or team practice from scratch that others adopted
- Comfortable running meetings with senior stakeholders and delivering difficult news
- Strong product judgment: ability to distinguish what a customer asks for from what they need, and communicate it clearly
- Hands-on building skills: can quickly assemble a working report, dashboard, or tool
- Clear communication with everyone from frontline operators to executives
- US citizen or permanent resident
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience deploying technology in industrial, mining, energy, or government settings with understanding of constraints (safety, uptime, shift schedules, connectivity, compliance such as MSHA)
- Familiarity with computer vision, AI/ML, IoT, or real-time data products
- Experience mentoring, managing, or hiring
- Experience in sensitive or mission-critical customer environments
