Path Robotics is seeking a Deployment Engineering Manager to lead the technical team responsible for deploying state-of-the-art robotic welding cells at customer sites. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Deployment Engineering, you will drive the scaling and systematization of field operations while compressing installation timelines and maximizing first-time quality (FTQ) across every deployment. Key responsibilities include: **Scaling & Team Standardization:** Recruit, train, and onboard technical field engineers to support rapid customer growth. Build repeatable infrastructure playbooks, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and commissioning checklists to accelerate time-to-value. Implement field metrics frameworks tracking installation hours, calibration efficiency, and team capacity. **First-Time Quality & Efficiency:** Own quality metrics for cell rollouts by implementing rigorous pre-shipment validation protocols at Path's facility to eliminate field-stage integration failures. Systematize cell configuration and calibration (perception sensors, pneumatic systems, robotic arms) to harden deployments against site environmental variables. Reduce cycle times for hardware-in-the-loop validation and drive down field labor costs per cell. **Technical Triage & Process Optimization:** Establish and maintain a structured Jira workflow for the field engineering team, ensuring all on-site bugs, edge cases, and hardware anomalies are documented, categorized, and tracked. Act as the primary escalation point for field teams, responding to and routing critical tickets during live deployments. Analyze field Jira patterns to identify recurring failures and present data to Product Engineering and Fleet Operations for prioritization. Ensure major deployment blockers receive comprehensive root-cause analysis (RCA) write-ups, transforming field mistakes into institutional knowledge. Bridge Operations and Product Engineering to build more deployable, serviceable hardware based on field lessons. You bring 5+ years of experience in deployment engineering, field engineering, systems integration, industrial automation, robotics, or manufacturing engineering. You have demonstrated experience leading or managing technical engineers in field or customer-facing environments. Strong working knowledge of complex electromechanical systems is essential; industrial robotics, automation, controls, or manufacturing equipment experience is strongly preferred. You excel at developing and standardizing technical processes, SOPs, and operational metrics. You are skilled at troubleshooting complex systems and driving structured root-cause analysis across hardware, software, and operational issues. You manage multiple customer deployments and competing priorities simultaneously, use data and metrics to identify bottlenecks and measure results, and communicate effectively across Engineering, Product, Manufacturing, Operations, and customer-facing teams.
