As a Deployment Engineer, you will be the technical bridge between sales and customers, responsible for getting customers live on the Maxima platform. You will work alongside Account Executives through complex deal cycles, run technical proofs of concept with tailored demos, lead technical discovery calls, and write implementation scoping documents. You will build integrations to transaction systems (revenue, billing, accounts payable), develop custom modules, and tune prompts and models to achieve the right AI performance for each client's accounting requirements.
You will also partner with product and engineering teams to deliver on customer requests and advocate for customer needs. When issues arise in production, you will troubleshoot, debug, fix, and upgrade software to ensure reliable performance and support deployed solutions over time. This role emphasizes engineering with a customer in the room—communication and collaboration are as important as technical skills.
The role is based in Maxima's downtown Toronto office near Union Station, with an expectation of in-office presence four to five days per week.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years in forward deployed engineering, sales engineering, implementation engineering, or solutions engineering
- Bachelor's degree in any engineering discipline (computer science preferred but not required)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and comfort working directly with customers
- Proficiency in Go, TypeScript, or Python
- Experience working with Account Executives on technical sales processes for enterprise customers
- Proactive, highly motivated, able to handle startup intensity and pace
