Salary: USD 150,000 - 215,000 / annual
LangChain is seeking a Deployed Engineer to join the Professional Services team, working directly with enterprise customers to build production-ready AI agents. You'll translate enterprise workflows into concrete software specifications and guide engineering teams through implementation, or build solutions directly alongside them.
In this role, you'll operate across three primary modes: advising on agent architecture design and production best practices; co-building evaluation pipelines and agent systems with customer engineering teams; and embedding as a deployed engineer within customer organizations for extended engagements, functioning as a de facto team member shipping agent systems.
Key responsibilities include end-to-end agent development lifecycle (ADLC) work spanning architecture design, orchestration patterns, evaluation methodology, custom conversational UIs, and production deployment. You'll also guide on applied AI topics including post-training techniques, supervised fine-tuning, harness engineering, trace mining, and model selection strategies.
You bring 4+ years of software engineering experience with deep Python expertise (TypeScript/JavaScript a plus) and 2+ years of hands-on production agent system development. You have strong client-facing communication skills and can confidently articulate architectural decisions to technical stakeholders including engineers, architects, and CTOs. You're deeply familiar with LangChain, LangGraph, Deep Agents, or comparable frameworks, including multi-agent patterns and state management. You can design and implement evaluation methodologies for non-deterministic AI systems and are comfortable operating across the full spectrum from advisory to embedded delivery.
Nice-to-have skills include exposure to dataset curation and post-training techniques (SFT, DPO, RLHF) using tools like Axolotl, Unsloth, Hugging Face transformers, or TRL, and experience with trace mining for continuous improvement loops.
