LangChain is hiring a Deployed Engineer to work directly with enterprise customers building and operating AI agents in production. You'll be a hands-on technical expert who partners with customer engineering teams across the full lifecycle—from pre-sales POC design through post-deployment advisory work.
In this role, you'll co-architect and co-build production AI agents, own the technical win in pre-sales evaluations, help customers deploy and operate agent-based applications (conversational agents, research agents, multi-step workflows), and advise on architecture and best practices. You'll run technical demos, trainings, and workshops for developer audiences, surface field feedback to inform product development, and occasionally contribute code upstream when it improves customer outcomes. Travel to customer sites is expected up to 40% of the time.
You'll work on real production problems—not demos or research—with fast feedback loops and visible impact. The team sits at the intersection of engineering, product, and go-to-market, shaping how LangChain is adopted in the field.
Required: 6+ years in a relevant technical role (software engineering, customer engineering, solutions engineering, or founding/product engineering), ideally in a startup or scale-up. Strong Python and JavaScript skills with solid systems fundamentals. You've designed agent-based or LLM-powered applications beyond simple API calls, including multi-step workflows, orchestration, and failure handling. Comfortable working directly with customers during POCs and technical evaluations. Can explain technical tradeoffs clearly and build trust with developer audiences. Take responsibility for outcomes, not just recommendations. Bias toward action and figuring things out as you go. Excited about operating AI agents in production.
Nice to have: Production AI agent deployment experience (especially with LangChain, LangGraph, or similar frameworks), LLM evaluation/observability/guardrails experience, cloud environment familiarity (AWS, GCP, Azure), containers, basic Kubernetes concepts, and experience shipping and operating production software under real-world constraints.
LangChain has raised $125M at Series B from top-tier investors (IVP, Sequoia, Benchmark, CapitalG, Sapphire Ventures). The platform includes LangSmith (observability, evaluation, deployment, fleet, sandboxes), open-source frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, Deep Agents), and LangSmith Engine for autonomous agent improvement. The company has 100M+ monthly open-source downloads, 6,000+ active LangSmith customers, and 5 of the Fortune 10 use LangSmith in production (35% of Fortune 500 overall).
