Havoc AI, founded in 2024 and headquartered in Providence, Rhode Island, is a leader in all-domain collaborative autonomy. The company develops software-defined hardware that powers military and commercial-grade autonomous systems across sea, air, and land. As a Demo Operations Specialist, you will be on the front lines demonstrating and deploying the next generation of Autonomous Surface Vessels (ASVs), bridging technical understanding with operational execution.
You will plan, prepare, and execute customer demonstrations showcasing Havoc's autonomy capabilities and mission performance. In the field, you'll operate and validate ASV systems in diverse maritime environments, ensuring safe, reliable, and repeatable performance. You'll develop deep understanding of vessel hardware, autonomy software, and integrated payload systems to support real-world testing and demo readiness.
Key responsibilities include technical troubleshooting of hardware, software, and networking issues during live demos and test events; capturing and documenting test and demo data for internal review and customer reporting; and cross-functional coordination with Engineering, Mission Ops, and Program teams. You'll represent Havoc in the field, interfacing with partners, end users, and military customers to ensure demo success. System readiness and maintenance of vessels, support equipment, and test infrastructure are ongoing responsibilities.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Systems, or related technical field (or equivalent hands-on experience); 2+ years in field operations, testing, or systems support (preferably in defense, robotics, or maritime); strong technical aptitude with hardware, software, and networking systems; proven troubleshooting experience in dynamic field environments; excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to travel up to 50% including multi-day deployments; comfort in marine environments; and U.S. citizenship with eligibility for DoD Secret Clearance preferred.
Preferred skills include experience operating or maintaining autonomous or remotely operated vessels; familiarity with Linux, telemetry tools, and autonomy frameworks (ROS2, PX4); hands-on payload integration or maritime navigation systems experience; small boat handling or maritime certification (USCG license, drone/ROV piloting); and understanding of DoD test or demo procedures.
