Fluidstack is building civilization-scale AI compute infrastructure, acquiring power, designing and operating data centers, and rethinking every layer of the stack. The company is focused on deploying frontier compute infrastructure faster than competitors to ensure AI expands human freedom.
You will lead a small team of Decision Engineers (AI Software Engineers) building AI-powered tools and decision systems that dramatically improve infrastructure development and delivery workflows. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll personally ship high-leverage AI tools and agents while setting technical direction, owning delivery quality, and growing your team.
Key responsibilities include: leading a small engineering team while remaining a hands-on contributor; identifying and shipping the highest-impact AI augmentation opportunities across infrastructure workflows with measurable productivity gains; designing and maintaining shared AI infrastructure including agent and skills frameworks; growing engineers through review, mentorship, and hiring; and partnering with leadership to translate organizational goals into an AI tooling roadmap.
You'll need 7+ years of software engineering experience with 2+ years leading a team while still coding. Required skills include production-grade code in Go, Python, and TypeScript; full-stack web development (React, Next.js); hands-on experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, open-weight models); MCP servers and agentic frameworks; and deep familiarity with AI coding agents like Claude Code and Cursor. You should have a track record shipping production systems and internal tools that operational teams depend on, technical depth to review architecture and unblock engineers, strong ownership mentality, and excellent communication skills. Experience at fast-scaling automation, robotics, or infrastructure software companies is a plus.
