Duetti is a music fintech company founded in 2022 that partners with independent artists and songwriters to acquire, manage, and market their music catalogs. Backed by major investors including The Raine Group, Roc Nation, and others, Duetti has raised over $635 million and works with more than 1,100 creators across 40+ countries.
As a Deal Executive, you will be responsible for negotiating, signing, and closing catalog acquisition deals with artists, songwriters, and music creators. You'll work directly with Duetti's A&R, Underwriting, Legal, and Finance teams to lead acquisitions that meet both company and artist objectives. This role sits at the intersection of music, operations, and data analytics, with direct impact on hundreds of music creators' professional and financial growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading deal negotiations and execution with artists and their teams, demonstrating music business expertise while maintaining strong client relationships
- End-to-end project management of deals, working with the Head of Sourcing and Sourcing Operations to maintain a healthy pipeline through data-driven assessments and creative lead generation
- Participating in key decision-making with Underwriting and Legal teams to ensure documentation completeness and accuracy, supporting investment committee reviews
- Creating novel solutions to rights acquisition challenges and implementing unique processes to meet ambitious timelines
- Developing and nurturing relationships with artists, managers, and industry stakeholders
- Enabling the A&R team to hit ambitious targets in a fast-paced startup environment
- Tracking deal points and conversations in internal tools (HubSpot, Airtable, Notion)
- Staying updated on industry trends, competitor strategies, and emerging music fintech technologies
Duetti operates offices in New York City, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, London, and Rio de Janeiro with a hybrid work model.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years of proven experience in private equity, investment banking, or other relevant finance or professional services role
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret and manipulate complex, unstructured data
- Understanding of the music industry and ability to interpret and navigate complex deal structures
- Experience in opportunity and risk assessment with informed decision-making during negotiations and diligence
- Ability to quickly interpret and synthesize legal agreements
- Proven attention to detail, strong work ethic, and enthusiasm for early-stage startup environments requiring self-starters and problem solvers
- Passion for music and culture with desire to be at the forefront of new business models for artists
