Hex is a collaborative analytics and data science platform that enables anyone to explore data using natural language, with or without code. The company has raised over $100M from top-tier investors including Sequoia and a16z, and serves thousands of customers including Ramp, Figma, Stubhub, and Anthropic.
As Deal Desk Manager, you will own the quote-to-cash (Q2C) process and lead the monetization strategy for Hex during a period of hypergrowth. This is a foundational role with significant executive visibility and the opportunity to design systems and processes from first principles.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and implement a new order-to-cash system, including evaluating and potentially migrating billing off Stripe to improve gross margin
- Chair the monetization committee, bringing data-driven insights on pricing, packaging, and discounting to keep Hex competitive and flexible
- Run deal desk operations day-to-day: review and approve non-standard deals, structure ramps and usage terms, and maintain fast turnaround while protecting margin and compliance
- Streamline CPQ (Configure Price Quote) to reduce sales friction and accelerate new rep ramp time
- Partner with Finance on closing processes, including invoicing, revenue recognition, and collections
- Improve provisioning to support 10x customer and transaction growth
- Build approval matrices, deal guardrails, and playbooks that enable sales reps to close standard deals independently
- Report on process health: cycle time, discount and margin leakage, quote-to-cash errors, and days to close
You will work cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Legal, Product, and Engineering teams. Your work will directly impact margin, sales velocity, and rep productivity.
Requirements:
- 5+ years in deal desk, sales finance, or revenue operations at a B2B SaaS company, with end-to-end ownership of a quote-to-cash process
- Experience leading a CPQ and/or billing system implementation or migration
- Strong understanding of SaaS contracts, revenue recognition, and the margin implications of pricing and billing structures
- Familiarity with usage-based and hybrid pricing models
- Proficiency in Salesforce and a CPQ and billing stack
- Demonstrated ability to align Sales, Finance, Legal, and Product on difficult decisions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to explain trade-offs to both executives and sales teams
- Bias toward action, high ownership mentality, and comfort with ambiguity
