FlixBus is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate the data infrastructure powering its mobility platform. You will work on scalable systems that process millions of daily events, supporting critical use cases including network planning, pricing, operations, and business analytics.
Key responsibilities include designing and maintaining scalable data infrastructure on AWS and Kubernetes; developing and operating streaming and data platform components using Kafka and Snowflake; implementing monitoring, alerting, and operational tooling; owning features end-to-end from development through maintenance; building Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and GitLab CI/CD; collaborating with data analysts, data scientists, and stakeholders; improving platform reliability and engineering practices; and participating in on-call rotations.
You bring 3+ years of experience building or operating data infrastructure or platforms. Required skills include hands-on experience with Kafka and Snowflake, Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform), CI/CD pipelines (GitLab), AWS and Kubernetes, monitoring tools (Datadog or similar), Python programming, and strong collaboration abilities. English fluency is required.
Nice-to-have skills include advanced SQL or dbt, data processing frameworks like PySpark, and knowledge of security and networking concepts for data platforms.
