Baseten powers mission-critical inference for leading AI companies including Cursor, Notion, OpenEvidence, Abridge, Clay, Gamma, and Writer. The company recently raised $1.5B in Series F funding led by Altimeter Capital, Conviction Partners, and Spark Capital.
This is a sourcing-focused role designed to build and maintain deep relationships across the long tail of data center and powered land providers—beyond the handful of large, well-known players that competitors typically target. You will own the complete lifecycle of sourcing relationships, from initial outreach through ongoing management and strategic intelligence gathering.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining a comprehensive map of data center and powered land opportunities, with emphasis on underserved long-tail providers
- Owning the full sourcing lifecycle for each relationship: identifying and reaching out to new providers, supporting negotiations, and managing ongoing partnerships
- Developing relationships across neoclouds, hyperscalers, brokers, and independent operators
- Independently evaluating new sites and spaces to assess fit and priority
- Preparing business cases and cost analyses to support new opportunities, partnering with Finance as needed
- Maintaining accurate records of suppliers, contracts, and commercial terms as a reliable source of truth
- Protecting Baseten's standing relationships through careful judgment and discretion
- Feeding market intelligence back to the broader Supply team with regular updates on pricing and market developments
You will be a sourcer at heart—someone who thrives on building and maintaining a large network of long-tail relationships rather than closing individual transactions. Strong project management instincts are essential, as you will own relationships end-to-end, not just initial introductions. You should be comfortable with commercial analysis, including building business cases, tracking costs, and engaging in contract-level conversations with suppliers.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Background in neocloud, hyperscaler, or brokerage environments where data center or land sourcing was part of the role
- Ability to independently assess and prioritize opportunities without heavy hand-holding
- Comfortable with commercial analysis—building business cases, tracking costs, and engaging in contract-level conversations with suppliers
- Judgment and discretion in relationship management, given the sensitivity of sourcing from providers Baseten also depends on in other contexts
NICE TO HAVE:
- Existing relationships across the data center and powered land brokerage community
- Familiarity with the broader GPU/compute supply landscape and how it intersects with power and site availability
- Experience managing supplier contracts or commercial records across multiple vendors or regions
