BinSentry is a fast-growing ag-tech company based in Kitchener-Waterloo, Canada, focused on modernizing the agricultural supply chain. The company provides AI-powered optical sensor technology paired with user-friendly software to help feed mills and protein producers improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance profitability. BinSentry currently monitors over 64,000 bins in real time across North America.
The Business Development & Strategic Accounts Manager will drive growth across BinSentry's swine business by developing relationships with priority prospects, generating qualified sales meetings, and converting opportunities into customer pilots. This role bridges new business development and account management, supporting pilot-to-commercial conversions, strategic account expansion, and renewal planning.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing targeted business-development plans for top swine prospects
- Generating qualified meetings through strategic outbound prospecting, industry relationships, referrals, and trade shows
- Leading discovery conversations, delivering product demonstrations, and converting prospects into pilots
- Supporting pilot-to-commercial conversion by maintaining stakeholder relationships and coordinating internal resources
- Building comprehensive account-expansion and renewal plans for strategic customers
- Developing deep understanding of swine-production operations, customer challenges, and BinSentry's product roadmap
- Attending strategic customer meetings and industry events to strengthen market presence
- Maintaining accurate CRM data including opportunity tracking, stakeholder maps, and conversion forecasts
- Collaborating with Customer Success and Swine leadership on expansion and renewal opportunities
Success metrics for the first year include: securing at least 25 qualified meetings with new swine prospects, assisting in converting at least 8 prospects into pilots, converting at least 4 pilots into commercial customers, building actionable expansion plans for top accounts, and establishing trusted relationships with strategic customers through regular engagement.
The role requires 20% travel and is remote-based. You will work closely with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Product teams to become a trusted expert in BinSentry's technology and swine producer needs.
REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
- 2+ years in a hunting sales role or new business development
- Historical track record of nurturing a pipeline of accounts in a limited TAM (total addressable market)
- Previous experience selling into strategic or enterprise accounts
- Previous experience selling SaaS or technology modules
- Ability to travel 20% (remote-based role)
Preferred:
- Agricultural industry experience in sales or account management roles
- Outside sales experience
- Targeted territory management experience
