The company delivers modular AI infrastructure deployed across 60+ countries for energy, defense, and other sectors.
As Data Center Structural Engineer, you will own the structural engineering thread for Armada's Galleon and Leviathan modular data center (MDC) product lines—a new capability scaling globally. You'll manage structural design, certification, and deployment across diverse seismic, wind, snow, and soil conditions worldwide.
Key responsibilities include:
**Vendor & Certification Management**: Identify, vet, and partner with domestic and international structural engineering vendors and local certifying engineers. Ensure each vendor can deliver analysis, design, and certification compliant with local building codes (NCC, IBC, equivalents) before project work begins.
**Site Due Diligence & Risk Assessment**: Lead early-stage structural evaluation for new sites globally. Assess seismic, wind, snow, and soil conditions; map local code and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements; flag vendor capability gaps or certification risks before they cause late-stage redesigns or deployment delays.
**Standardized Structural Design**: Develop and maintain template designs for MDC components—raised structural platforms, ISO container connections, foundations/pads, anchorage, piping supports—that perform across the widest range of site conditions. Convert one-off structural designs into repeatable, scalable SKUs.
**In-House Analysis & Design**: Perform structural analysis and design for new Armada products and first-of-a-kind site conditions where vendor solutions don't yet exist. Establish the engineering basis in-house before handing off to local certifying engineers for jurisdictional review and stamping.
**End-to-End Technical Oversight**: Serve as the structural liaison between Armada's product engineering team and domestic/international fabricators, general contractors, and local structural/civil engineers. Review shop drawings, equipment integration details, and installation plans to ensure built systems match certified designs.
The role is remote-based with approximately 20–30% travel to project sites, fabricators, and vendor/contractor locations. You'll work on a greenfield product line, solving structural challenges that haven't been solved before in the context of distributed, edge-deployed modular infrastructure.
