Tripledot Studios, one of the world's largest independent mobile games companies with 2,500+ employees across 12 studios, is seeking a Data Analyst to own the fraud detection and user segmentation work for PuzzlePlay—their new player rewards platform that lets users earn points, complete challenges, and win real prizes while playing casual mobile games.
You will be responsible for building and maintaining a fraud detection system that combines fraud signals with activity data to understand users and inform revenue-share decisions. Working alongside product, data, and gameplay analytics colleagues, you'll continuously evolve the system as fraud patterns change and new tactics emerge.
Key responsibilities include:
- Regularly reviewing and refining fraud signals (IP spoofing, VPN use, unusual play patterns) to distinguish suspicious activity from legitimate users
- Owning the fraud-related segments of the user segmentation system, from signal interpretation to ongoing performance monitoring
- Collaborating with the product team on fraud verification tools across different markets (currently using FaceTec for facial verification; may expand to ID scanning or phone verification)
- Investigating users flagged for manual review, including ambiguous cases, and improving the review process
- Identifying gaps in available signals and recommending third-party tools for the product roadmap
This is a hybrid role based in Barcelona, though Warsaw is the preferred location where several team members are based. The role is open to candidates across Europe.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Hands-on experience using data to investigate fraud and shape detection or prevention decisions (not just working alongside a fraud team)
- Experience designing or improving fraud signals, user segments, or review processes, with an interest in how those decisions evolve as tactics change
- Ability to work with product and other teams to turn analysis into operational fraud controls
